Respondents were asked, "During the past 30 days, have you had any symptoms of pain, aching, or stiffness in or around a joint?" Respondents were instructed to not include the back or neck because other questions focused on those areas. To facilitate their response, respondents were shown a card illustrating the body joints. Estimates are age-adjusted to the year 2000 standard population using five age groups: 18-44 years, 45-54 years, 55-64 years, 65-74 years, and 75 years and over.
Figures not included in the pdf-version of the current report were taken from the attached excel-version.
