Consumer spending on movie tickets in the U.S. 1999-2022
In 2022, consumers in the United States collectively spent nearly 6.54 billion U.S. dollars on movie tickets, up from 2.91 billion dollars a year earlier. Mirroring this increase in consumer spending, box office gross in the U.S. and Canada – also known as the North American movie market – almost doubled in 2022.
