Most visited amusement and theme parks in North America 2019

The Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, was visited by approximately 20.96 million people in 2019, making it the most visited amusement park in North America.

 Favorite amusement park chain in the U.S. 

Amusement and theme parks have become a popular leisure activity for entertainment enthusiasts and thrill seekers of all ages in the United States. According to a 2018 survey, 31 percent of U.S. adults said they would be very interested in going to a theme park in the next 12 months. Lucky for them, some of the biggest amusement park chains worldwide are situated in the United States. Florida-based Walt Disney Attractions, Inc. was by far the most visited amusement park chain in 2019 with a total of around 156 million people attending its theme parks. Walt Disney theme parks Disneyland Anaheim and Disney’s Animal Kingdom were the second and third most visited amusement parks in North America, respectively.  

 Is the theme park industry lucrative?  

While theme parks offer visitors diversion, fantasy and a little thrill, they have also become a profitable business segment. In the United States, the revenue generated from amusement and theme parks was estimated to amount to almost 22 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.
