With recovery from the financial crisis, the market in the United States has projected healthy growth in recent years by manufacturers increased focus on delivering technologically advanced products in various novel product formats. Deodorants is a matured market in developed regions such as the United States and Europe. In these markets, delivery of innovative products and an improved product mix play a vital role for manufacturers to increase their revenues. These producers have also sought to generate sales growth by relying on product introductions on a continuous basis as well as product line extensions.

Procter & Gamble, who owns the deodorant brand Old Spice, is the largest deodorant vendor in the United States. In 2013, the company generated a total of about 947.3 million U.S. dollars and controlled about 37.7 percent of the category's total dollar sales. In that year, Procter & Gamble also had six of its deodorant brands in the U.S. top ten, regarding sales.
