The fatality rate of pedalcyclists in the U.S. was far higher among men than women in 2022. Men in their late 50s and early sixties are most likely to be killed in a road traffic crash while riding a bike. Among 55 to 59 and 60 to 64 year-old men there were 1.11 cyclist fatalities per 100,000 U.S. residents.
