On September 7, 2022, the price of regular gasoline was highest in Hawaii at around 5.3 U.S. dollars per gallon. U.S. gas prices increased significantly as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The war led to an increase in crude oil prices and market uncertainty, resulting in gas price inflation.
