The American restaurant chain Domino’s Pizza had a continuously rising number of restaurants in the United States over the last five years. Domino’s Pizza is a franchise pizza delivery corporation, primarily specializing in pizzas with a large variety of styles and toppings. Despite focusing on pizza, Domino’s menu also offers pasta, bread bowls, oven-baked sandwiches and chicken side dishes, as well as beverages and desserts.

The company was founded by brothers Tom and James Monaghan in June 1960 and is headquartered in Ann Arbor Charter Township, Michigan in the United States. The chain has around 11,630 stores located in 73 countries worldwide. Domino’s Pizza has franchise agreements with companies in operating countries, which give them the rights to own, operate and franchise branches of the chain. Initial franchise investments in a traditional Domino’s Pizza store were estimated to total 542,400 U.S. dollars in 2015.

In 2016, Domino’s Pizza generated approximately 2.47 billion U.S. dollars in revenue worldwide. Compared to other pizza chains in the United States, Domino’s Pizza is the second largest after Yum! Brands chain Pizza Hut. During a survey in March 2016, U.S. consumers ranked Domino’s Pizza as the fifth most popular pizza chain. According to survey respondents, Papa Murphy’s was their favorite.
