Average spending on Christmas gifts in the U.S. The statistic depicts the results of a survey about the average Christmas spending of U.S. consumers from 2006 to 2011. October of 2007 was the most generous regarding spending on gifts among Americans, estimating a likelihood of spending around 909 U.S. dollars (on average). Since then, the amount reserved for Christmas presents has steadily declined.
