The least expensive city was Columbia, S.C in 2012 with an average daily rate of 64 U.S. dollars. The Hotel Price Index (HPI) is based on bookings made on hotels.com. The prices shown are those actually paid by the customer. The sample set are about 110,000 properties in more than 18,000 global locations.
