Importance of the Holocaust in shaping Jewish political beliefs in the U.S. 2012 This statistic shows how members of the Jewish community in the U.S. rated the importance of the Holocaust with respect to how this event influences their political beliefs. A distinction is made between the importance of the Holocaust for the younger generation as compared to the older generation. For the older generation of the Jewish community in the United States the Holocaust was considered to have had a greater influence on their political beliefs. 68 percent of the respondents aged 60 or older stated that the Holocaust was very important for them in shaping their beliefs.
