Views on gay rights by age groups in the U.S. 2012 This statistic shows the results of a survey in the United States as to whether gay or lesbian relations are morally acceptable and whether gay and lesbian relations and same-sex marriage should be legal. The results are divided according to specified age groups of respondents. 66 percent of 18 to 34 year olds believe same-sex marriage should be legal. 46 percent of those aged 55 and over believe gay and lesbian relations are morally acceptable.
