According to the statistic shown, over one billion cell phones have been produced in China between January 2014 and August 2015. China has been one of the leading cell phone manufacturing countries in the world and may continue to develop steadily in the near future. In addition to its established status as a manufacturing country for mobiles, China’s domestic mobile phone market has become one of the largest cell phone markets in the world.
In 2010, around 40 million smart phones had been sold in China whereas sales figures of generic mobile phones had resulted to about 210 million units. However, in 2015, smart phone sales were expected to amount to over 276 million units while generic mobile phone sales were estimated at around 38 million units.In addition, the sales value of smart phones in China was anticipated to increase from 90.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2013 to 108.7 U.S. dollars in 2015.
By July 2015, the number of cell phone subscribers in China had reached over 1,295 million, displaying a growth momentum of around 30 million subscribers over the past 12 months. Consequently, the number of fixed telephone lines had decreased to about 240,000 by July 2015, marking a cutback of about 15 thousand subscriptions over the past 12 months. In terms of operating systems, Android and iOS had maintained their tight grip on the market with a mobile phone operating system market share of over 70 and 20 percent.,
