Preliminary figures for 2021 indicate that sport utility vehicles (SUVs) accounted for around 41.4 percent of the automobile production in the United States. These values include vehicles produced domestically in the United States and imported vehicles that were produced elsewhere. Overall, light trucks represented more than 58 percent of the market.
