Health care benefits for part-time employees in the U.S. in 2012

This survey represents U.S. companies' offerings of health care benefits to part-time employees in 2012. In 2012, some 43 percent of the industries with a low concentration of part-time workers offered the same options as for full-time employees, whereas 38 percent of the industries with a high concentration of part-time workers offered these options.

In 2011, respondents spent, on average $10,982 per employee on health care, which equates to a collective $87 billion in total health care expenditures.
* High part-time concentration includes companies in the following industries: health services, hospitality, entertainment, professional services, retail and wholesale trade.
