U.S. Fair Trade: premium payments for producers of herbs and spices 2006-2012
This statistic represents premium payments paid to producers of fairly traded vanilla, herbs and spices from 2006 to 2012. The premiums were paid by U.S. businesses to organizations that produce Fair Trade certified vanilla, herbs and spices. In 2009, Fair trade licensed business partners paid around 91,700 U.S. dollars in premium payments to such organizations. Premium payments are intended to be used for social and economic development projects in the producing communities.
