Size of VC-backed IPOs in the U.S. 2000-2022
2021 was the strongest year for venture capital-backed initial public offerings (IPOs) in the United States in the last 20 years, and nearly doubled in value compared to the previous year. The proceeds from venture capital-backed IPOs raised approximately 60.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. 2022 instead, was among the weakest years for VC-backed IPOs in the U.S., with a value of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars.
