The statistic shows the development of Target2 balance at the German Federal Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank) from 1999 to 2014. TARGET2 (Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross Settlement Express Transfer System) enables processing of large transactions executed in euro among banks in the European Union. A positive TARGET2 balance means that European Central Bank owes a given sum of money to German Federal Bank. A negative balance signifies that German Federal Bank has liabilities towards European Central Bank. The TARGET2 balance of German Federal Bank amounted to approximately 460.85 billion euros in 2014.
