U.S. manufacturing, retail and wholesale sectors barriers to recycling food 2013
This statistic illustrates the results of a written survey conducted by the Food Waste Reduction Alliance and the Business for Social Responsibility in 2013. Survey respondents of the manufacturing and retail and wholesale sector were asked regarding barriers that prevent their company from recycling unsaleable food. Some 58 percent of respondents operating in the retail and wholesale sector indicated that transportation constraints were a main barrier of recycling more unmerchantable food.
