Global coffee production reached 170.94 million 60-kilogram bags as of 2018/2019, up from 158.07 million 60-kilogram bags in 2017/2018. The majority of the world’s coffee is produced by South America, specifically Brazil.
Leading coffee producers
In 2018, Brazil produced 61.7 million 60-kilogram bags of coffee. Vietnam is the second leading producer of coffee, at 29.5 million 60-kilogram bags of coffee in that year. However, Vietnam exports a higher volume of coffee than Brazil, at 3.3 million 60-kilogram bags as of January 2019.
