E.ON's revenue 2004-2019

At the end of 2019, the German electric utility service provider E.ON had reported an annual revenue of 41.5 billion euros.

Spin-offs and acquisitions

E.ON saw significant revenue growth between the years 2004 and 2012. In the latter year revenues reached 132 billion euros, but by 2015 they had fallen to approximately 43 billion euros. The dramatic decline in revenues can be explained by the spin-off of the company Uniper in 2015, which was formed by the separation of E.ON’s fossil fuel assets. This split left the company with renewables, energy networks and services. The increase in revenue in 2019 was helped by the acquisition of the Innogy Group in September of that year.

Power sales

Due to the spin-off, E.ON power sales inevitably fell in 2015 to 141.8 kilowatt hours. By 2019, sales had had fallen to under 130 kilowatt hours. Despite this, E.ON is still one of the leading European utilities based on power sales, with spin-off Uniper the head of the pack.
