About This Statistic
This statistic shows the number of employees at Intel as of the end of the financial year from 2004 to 2016. In 2016, around 106 thousand people were employed at Intel. The American multinational technology company Intel Corporation has rested its primary focus on the manufacture and supply of semiconductor chips to other computer tech giants, such as Apple, Samsung, Hewlett Packard, and Dell. Scientists Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore founded the California-based company in 1968 and created the world’s first commercial microprocessor chip. Intel today also sells motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers, integrated circuits, flash memory, and other devices related to communications and computing, and is one of the world’s leading semiconductor chip makers, alongside Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm.
