Oil reserves in India amounted to around 0.6 billion metric tons in 2020, the same level since 2016. India's oil sector is comes largely under state-owned companies. Its government has developed policies targeting the country's oil production and exploration. India is a net importer of oil.
Proved oil reserves in India from 1990 to 2020

Total proved reserves of oil: generally taken to be those quantities that geological and engineering information indicates with reasonable certainty can be recovered in the future from known reservoirs under existing economic and operating conditions.
Reserves include gas condensate and natural gas liquids (NGLs) as well as crude oil.
The figures through 2009 are taken from the Exxon report “Oeldorado 2009”. Figures from 2010 to 2019 are taken from previous editions of BP's statistical reviews.
For clarity purposes, the figures have been rounded.
