Apple App Store: average app price 2022

In September 2022, it was found that the average price of an iOS gaming app in the Apple App Store was 0.49 U.S dollars, while on average the price of apps reached approximately 0.90 U.S dollars. The average price of apps and games was 0.80 U.S. dollars.

Mobile app stores

Mobile apps are one of the most popular smartphone features. As of the second quarter of 2022, gaming apps were the most popular iOS app category with roughly 13.54 percent of all available apps being gaming apps. When it comes to the number of available apps in the biggest app stores, Google Play and the Apple App Store lead the ranking with 3.5 million and 2.18 million available apps respectively.

Mobile app prices

As of July 2022, the majority of mobile apps hosted and distributed via the Apple App Store were priced less than one U.S. dollar, while approximately 25 thousand apps were priced between one and two U.S. dollars. At the end of September 2022, the Apple App Store announced it was raising its prices in all the countries using the Euro currency and other key markets such as South Korea and Japan. During the second half of 2022, global consumers spent approximately 22 billion U.S. dollars on mobile apps and games hosted and distributed in the Apple App Store.
