Major countries in rare earth mine production 2013-2018 This statistic depicts the major countries in rare earth mine production worldwide from 2013 to 2018, measured in metric tons REO. In 2013, China had a mine production of some 95,000 metric tons of rare-earth oxide. Until 2018, the amount produced increased to some 120 thousand metric tons. The following elements are among rare earths: cerium (Ce), dysprosium (Dy), erbium (Er), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), holmium (Ho), lanthanum (La), lutetium (Lu), neodymium (Nd), praseodymium (Pr), promethium (Pm), samarium (Sm), scandium (Sc), terbium (Tb), thulium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb), and yttrium (Y).
