In 2020, Heineken employed over 28,000 people in Europe. The largest part of the workforce of about 32,000 people, was located in the Americas. That year, the company was comprised of a total of roughly 84 thousand employees globally.

Heineken’s worldwide revenue

In 2019, Heineken N.V.’s operating segment in Europe generated 11 billion euros in revenue in 2020. Close to 6.5 billion euros were made in the Americas that same year. The company’s consolidated revenue amounted to almost 27 billion euros.

The beer market in the Netherlands

Since 2009, about 24 million hectoliters of beer have been produced annually in the Netherlands. The number of breweries responsible has grown in recent years: between 2012 and 2018, the number of active beer brewing companies in the country has quadrupled. Many of these breweries were located in specific parts of the country. In January of 2021, the Dutch provinces with the highest number of active breweries were Noord-Brabant, Noord-Holland, and Zuid-Holland, respectively.
