In 2022, BYD produed around 1.86 million electric vehicles worldwide. This made the Chinese manufacturer the largest producer of electric vehicles worldwide. Tesla and the Volkswagen Group were second and third in the ranking, producing an estimated 1.31 million and 839,200 plug-in electric vehicles respectively that year.
