The statistic shows the proportion of prefectures affected by the earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 on the gross domestic product (GDP) of Japan and the share of Hanshin/Kobe, which has been hit by a huge earthquake in 1995. The proportion of Iwate prefecture on Japan's GDP was 0.9 percent, while the share of the affected region in 1995 Hanshin/Kobe made up 13.1 percent
