Verizon Communications' operating revenue from 2007 to 2018
(in billion U.S. dollars)
Verizon: operating revenue 2007-2018
In 2018, Verizon Communications achieved a total operating revenue of about 130 billion U.S. dollars. This makes Verizon one of the leading mobile operators in the United States, alongside AT&T and T-Mobile US.

Verizon’s revenue streams

With around 90 billion U.S. dollars in annual revenue, wireless services account for around 70 percent of Verizon’s total revenue, making it the company’s largest business segment. Within this segment, Verizon provides wireless communications products and services to consumer, business and government customers on a postpaid and prepaid basis in the United States. Verizon’s wireline segment, which has declined over the last eight years, offers video and data services, networking solutions and long-distance voice services, among other services. “Corporate and Other” is Verizon’s third and smallest segment. It includes results from subsidiaries (Verizon Media and Verizon Connect) and historical results from divested businesses.

Employees at Verizon

Verizon Communications Inc. was founded in 1983 and today employs close to 145,000 people worldwide. This is a lower number compared to previous years. In September 2018, the company had announced a voluntary separation program for certain U.S.-based management employees in order to reduce costs and prepare for the 5G future.
