Most used brands of plastic garbage bags and trash can liners in the U.S. 2018 This statistic shows the brands of plastic garbage bags and trash can liners used most often in the United States in 2018. The data has been calculated by Statista based on the U.S. Census data and Simmons National Consumer Survey (NHCS). According to this statistic, 111.84 million Americans used Glad in 2018.
Store brand versus name brand

Store brand items are providing for increasingly competition for name brand items. When it comes to trash, store brand garbage bags have an edge over other brand name labels for U.S. households. But it is not just trash bags which are disposable and where quality may not be that important, but the same is true when it comes to food storage bags as well as for main household grocery items. For U.S. consumers, price remains an important factor when making household purchases, and stores can affordably market their own store brand products at a competitive price because they don’t have to pay the extra costs for marketing a product which name-brand products do. Stores also have more control over the production, quality, pricing and profits. But it is not just the price that keeps consumers filling their bags with store brand items, it is also because the quality of private label products is considered to be just as good as name brand products. Therefore, consumers can expect to find more store brand items filling the shelves of stores across the country and American households will continue to prefer store brand products over name brand products as long as quality and price remain competitive.
