Police Terrorism Act stop and search arrests in England and Wales 2002-2011 This statistic shows the amount of arrests resulting from stop and searches carried out by the police in England and Wales under section 44/47A of the Terrorism Act (2000) from fiscal year 2002/2003 to fiscal year 2010/2011, by reason for arrest. Arrests for terrorism offences peaked in 2005/2006. The majority of arrests though, despite the searches being primarily for anti-terrorism purposes, were for reasons other than those linked to terrorism offences.
