Survey: Perceived effect of British EU membership on the economy 2013 This statistic shows the perceived effect of British membership of the European Union on the economy. 32 percent of respondents thought it had a negative effect. Opinion was, however, quite evenly split with 35 percent thinking it had a positive effect on the economy.
