This statistic shows the number of dwellings in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2003 to 2017, by tenure. It can be seen that the number of dwelling rented privately and rented from housing associations increased overall during the period observed, whilst the number of dwellings rented from local authorities fell from over three million in 2003 to approximately two million dwellings in 2017.
