Dwellings with damp problems in England in 2003-2018

This statistic illustrates the total share of dwellings with damp problems in England from 2003 to 2018. The damp problems that were searched for in each dwelling and included in these results were rising damp, penetrating damp and condensation/ mold. With the exception of an increase between 2008 and 2009, there was a net decrease in the share of homes with damp problems over this twelve year period. In 2003, a total of 10.6 percent of homes that were inspected were found to have some form of damp problem. As of 2018, this share had decreased to 3.3 percent of dwellings.
