This survey shows the proportion of wholesale and retail premises experiencing crime in England and Wales in 2018, by number of employees. Crime incidents include burglary (attempts and with entry), vandalism, vehicle related theft, robbery (including attempts), assaults and threats, thefts (by customers, employees, unknown persons and others), and fraud (by customers, unknown persons and others). Of the responding retail and wholesale premises, 36 percent of those employing one to nine members of staff had experienced an incident of crime in the last 12 months.
