Audiobook listeners in the U.S. 2021, by age group
A survey held in early 2021 exploring audiobook listening among adults in the United States showed that just 12 percent of respondents aged 65 or above had listened to an audiobook in the last year, whereas adults aged 18 to 29 years old were significantly more likely to have engaged with the format, with 30 percent having listened to at least one audiobook in the same time period. Audiobook listenership also tended to be higher among college graduates and those on a high income.
