This statistic shows the average number of hours per week spend by mothers in the United States on various activities according to children's characteristic. Among married stay-at-home mothers, those with children ages 5 or younger spend an average 25 hours per week on child-care activities which is almost twice than those with older children (12 hours). At the same time, stay-at-home mothers with younger children do somewhat less housework (24 hours per week) than their counterparts with older children (27 hours per week).
