This statistic shows the share of vehicles exceeding 30 mph speed limit on built-up roads in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2014. Just under half of both motorcycles and light goods vehicles were exceeding the speed limit. These vehicles were also the most likely to exceed the limit by more than five mph. Only a quarter of buses and coaches were speeding and only seven percent were driving at more than five mph over the limit. More than 40 percent of all other vehicle types were speeding.
