This graph shows the average speed of vehicles driving on single carriageways in Great Britain in 2014. Most vehicles had an average speed within their speed limit. However, given that the speed limit for heavy goods vehicles is 40 mph, the average speed for both types exceeded this limit. No vehicle type came close to the 60 mph speed limit.
