Glass of wine on-trade price in Great Britain 2017, by outlet type This statistic shows the average price per 175ml glass of wine sold through the on-trade in Great Britain in 2017, by outlet type. Hotel prices were the highest on average at 5.58 British pounds a measure, followed by proprietary clubs at 5.13 British pounds. The amount of duty applied to a glass of table wine has increased year on year in the United Kingdom between 2009 and 2015, with the highest off-trade prices found in London as of 2017. In terms of on-trade alcohol consumption, beer is the preferred beverage of choice, followed by wine. Wine has, however, experienced a surge in popularity, which has seen it take a large share of beer sales. On-trade consumption of wine is predominantly done in hotels, while it is the alcoholic beverage of choice for off-trade consumption.
