This statistic depicts the opinion of U.S. respondents on whether or not pregnant women can drink one or two alcoholic beverages in a week in 2014, by gender. Based on this survey, 71 percent of women surveyed said it was not okay for women to drink alcohol while pregnant. Drinking alcohol while pregnant can cause birth defects as well as cause possible developmental problems. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy has also been associated with miscarriages, heart defects, and learning and behavioral disorders in the unborn baby.
