This statistic shows the number of employees in restaurants in Great Britain from 2006 to 2017, by gender. Until 2009 more female than male workers were employed in British restaurants, after which the number of male employees began to grow. In June 2017 male employees accounted for approximately 510 thousand employees in the restaurant industry, next to 479 thousand female employees.
