This statistic shows the registrations of newly diagnosed cases of pancreatic cancer in England from 1995 to 2017, by gender. Cancer of the pancreas is cancer of the pancreas which is a gland that sits behind the stomach. Pancreatic cancer occurs when cells within the pancreas begin to grow abnormally. In 2017, 4,553,males and 4,276 females were registered as newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This was an increase on the previous year's number of registrations among males and females both.
