Revenue lost from unlicensed vehicles in Great Britain (UK) 2007/08 to 2017/18
This statistic shows the amount of revenue estimated to have been lost by the government from unlicensed vehicles in Great Britain between 2007/08 and 2017/18 according to the vehicle tax classes. Private vehicles and light goods vehicles made up the largest share of lost revenue and despite the value in 2013/14 being almost half that of 2007/08, there was an increase in 2010/11 from 2009/10, most likely due to the economic recession. In 2017/18 an estimated total of 101 million British pounds were lost due to unlicensed vehicles, while in 2015/16 78 million British pounds were lost for the same reason.
