This 2013 survey presents the public's perception of scientists in the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2014. While in the years between 2005 and 2008 the respondents were less convinced of the valuable contribution scientists made to society and less than a third of them agreed with that notion, in the years after an increasing trend can be seen. In 2014, almost half of the surveyed strongly agreed that scientists made a valuable contribution to society.
