Motorsport UK
Motorsport UK, formerly the Motor Sports Association, is the national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport, representing competitors, volunteers, clubs and fans. In 2018, Motorsport UK declared a total group income of approximately 9.6 million British pounds.
This statistic shows the number of auto/rallycross events held in the United Kingdom between 2003 and 2018. Rallycross is a form of sprint racing on mixed-surface circuits.
In the United Kingdom, autocross events involve competitors driving against the clock around a short course typically held on a grass or stubble surface. Although cars typically compete individually against the clock, more than one car may start at the same time if the circuit is large enough.
There were fewer autocross events than for other disciplines with only 56 in 2018. This may be down to lack of popularity or difficulty of organising such events. Due to the low figures and fluctuations over this period, no real trends can be seen. 2009 saw 72 autocross events, the greatest number in any year from 2003 to 2018.
