Influence of ethical standards on purchase behaviour in the United Kingdom (UK) 2014

This statistic shows the results of a survey question asking participants when they last made a buying decision influenced by the ethical standards of a retailer or a product. The survey, conducted for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in June 2014, aimed to gauge the publics' attitude to ethical standards in retail in the UK and the impact this had on their purchase decisions. Collectively, 45 percent of respondents claimed to have ever made a buying decision influenced by the ethical standards of the retailer or product, 8 percent of whom had done so in the last week. However 28 percent stated they never have and a further 26 percent did not know or couldn't say.
