UK Banking: IMF reserve position of the United Kingdom (UK) 2016-2020
This statistic illustrates the United Kingdom's Reserve Tranche position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from January 2016 to August 2020. Reserve Tranche Position is counted among country's foreign exchange reserves. Every country that provides reserve assets to the IMF as part of its quote subscription receives a liquid claim on the IMF, which can be cashed on demand. It can be seen that for the United Kingdom (UK) the amounts in reserve fluctuated overall during the period under observation, reaching a value of approximately 6.95 billion U.S. dollars as of August 2020. The largest value of amounts in reserve was found in March 2016, when reserves of more than 7.4 billion U.S. dollars were recorded.
