Quarterly average number of heating degree days in the UK 2011-2019

A heating degree day is the measurement to quantify the demand for energy to heat a building. The first quarters of each year during this period typically saw some of the highest numbers of heating degree days. In the first quarter of 2019 the average number of heating degree days was 9.2. Between 2011 and 2019, the first quarter of 2013 recorded highest heating degree, at 12.1 degrees Celsius.
