The number of enterprises in the manufacturing industry in the United Kingdom saw no significant changes in 2018 in comparison to the previous year 2017 and remained at around 137901 enterprises. Still, the number of enterprises reached its highest value in the observed period in 2018.
In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
