According to a survey carried out in 2024, the Cayman Islands was the most attractive financial center in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2024, with a score of 665. Sao Paolo and Barbados followed, with 659 and 657 points, respectively. The ranking is based on an index where a multitude of factors are integrated. Important areas of competitiveness are, among others, business environment, human capital, taxation and infrastructure.

The source adds the following information: The ratings were based on a factor assessment model, which involved taking two sets of ratings - one from survey respondents and one generated by a statsitical model - and combining them into a single ranking. The online survey used a 10 point scale in which respondents rated each financial center as a place to do business. The factors calculated in the statistical model include - among others - business environment, human capital, infrastructure, financial sector development, reputational and general measures.
